Safelists, Safelists, Safelists!!

Yes they work; No they don’t work!  So much disagreement going on!  The thing is this – YOUR  results in SafeLists can be totally different to the next guys.

WHY??

Well first of all think about our different circumstances.  We are all sending out different offers, from different countries, with different levels of marketing experience – from brand new marketers to six and seven figure earners!  So how can we possibly get the same results?  Some  just use 3 or 4 Safelists, others use 20 or more!  There are so many variables.  Of course the very best  thing to do is keep up-to-date with the Safelists that are giving the best results, but again you have to remember all those variables.

I use Traffic Hoopla and Jerry Iannucci to keep up with what’s working now.  You will never get exactly the same results as everyone else.  Just make sure you are always using tracking codes to check what is and is not working.  Then increase the ads that are working and ditch the ones that don’t.  Easy!

1)  Time and Day!

Amazingly, the time and day you send out emails really does make a difference.  Remember alot of the people who are opening your emails are in a different country, so the time may be completely different.  And it has been proven that some days are just better than others for getting your mail read.

2)  Composition of Email

If you are sending out a rambling, long, boring email, or failing to use paragraphs to make it easier to read, the recipient of your mail will probably close your email immediately or click  away quickly (I know this because I’m one of those recipients lol).

3)  Splash Page

If you are advertising your company website, you are unlikely to get many opt-ins.  Sorry to be the one to break it to you, but just imagine for one moment  how many of those replicated websites are out there on the web? Dozens?  More like hundreds or thousands.  You need to stand out in the crowd, so you need to find another way to advertise.  Either your own splash page, or a different offer where you are capturing your leads names and email addresses, so you can reveal your business to them at a later date.

4)  Your Name(!)

Just imagine if you sent out the exact same email to a Safelist as a professional marketer like Mike Dillard.  Do you think you would get the same results?  No, of course Mike would get a far bigger response because he is so well-known on the internet and demands far more respect than an unknown marketer.

Everyone can get results with Safelist Marketing but everyone will have different results.  But that is not something you need to focus on.  The secret to succeeding with Safelists is to work out a system to remind you when you can next send an email, maybe using Google Docs or something similar.  Persistence is key.  Just keep on sending those emails out.  And of course keep improving on them.  And keep tracking them lol!

And if you still think Safelists don’t work, consider your results.  If you only get an occassional sign-up, and only do occassional mailings, imagine if you ramped it up abit and started mailing everyday (or twice a day where you are allowed) and added more Safelists to your list, how much better your results could be!

A few weeks ago I spent some time at a lovely campsite overlooking the sea and the weather was lovely (I mention this because its quite unusual for us in England to have lovely weather!)  I spent some considerable time just sitting staringat the waves crashing on the rocks or sometimes just quietly lapping on the shore.

The thing I realised was that the tide will come in and go out everyday, whatever is in it’s way, whatever the weather, whatever else is happening in the world.  It is unstoppable!!  Exactly the quality that you need to build a Network Marketing business!  The sea doesn’t care how many barriers you put in front of it.  It doesn’t care if we build sea walls and sea defences; it will still come in everyday!  And this is what you need to do to build an amazing Network Marketing business.

So be unstoppable in your business.  Ignore the people who tell you it can’t be done (even if it is your family and friends!); you know it CAN be done!  Go around all the obstacles that you will find on your way, or if that doesn’t work, go over them!  And when you are having a bad day, simply give yourself an hour or two off and go out and have fun.  Treat yourself. Take the dog for a walk, get some fresh air; go somewhere you have never been before.  Then get back on the horse (!) and ride away to success.  Don’t allow anyone or anything to stand in the way of your success.

Because just like the sea, you can be unstoppable. You need to be focused, determined and consistent.  Make a detailed plan of what you want to achieve each day and follow it as closely as you can.  Realise that a Home Business takes consistent action for maybe a year or even two before you will see results.  Of course, your life will get in the way; that’s a given!  Just don’t let it get you down.  Understand that stuff happens.  Just totally focus on what you want to achieve and get your head down and keep working.

Keep your dreams alive and right there in front of you, and you will be unstoppable!

If you are involved in any way with a Network Marketing Company, I have to ask you this question!  Are you reading enough books?  In fact have you read any Network Marketing or MLM books?  Because if you are hoping to build a massive Network Marketing business, unless you already know of all the pitfalls, peaks and troughs in MLM, you are going to very quickly join the ranks of the 97% who never make a pretty penny in MLM!

Because the majority of people who join a Network Marketing Company fail!  Most people make less than $10 a month!  So wouldn’t it be wise to find out what you are letting yourself in for quickly?   So start with a book like ‘Your First Year In Network Marketing’ by Mark Yarnell then progress to some of Jim Rohn’s amazing books or cd’s.  I will never forget his amazing cd ‘Building Your Network Marketing Business’  I played it over and over again in my early days in MLM and it helped me considerably!

Network Marketing books vary greatly!  Personal Development and Mindset books abound.  Do you need this type of book?  Yes, yes and yes again!  In Network Marketing, your business will grow when you yourself grow as a person.  When you change your mindset, discover what you REALLY want from life and make the DECISION to go for it, you business will go from strength to strength.  Every training you go to, every book you read will help a little towards your personal development.  As long as you pick up one or two tips from every book you read, and apply them to your business, you will succeed.

Then there are training books.  How to build a team, what to say to people, telephone techniques, goal setting….. the list goes on!  Don’t spend ages deciding!  Just grab a book which attracts you or on a subject that you feel you need help in and start reading everyday.  Even if it is just 15 minutes a day, you are learning and developing yourself.  If you find the concepts difficult, read it more than once.  Take notes or do what I tend to do; highlight anything which you want to use or you want to remember.  Then take action on what you have read.  Try out those new telephone techniques, set those goals; whatever you have been reading about – just give it a go!

And if you are having a bad day and are getting nowhere, take some time to yourself, make yourself comfy and delve into that new book that is sitting on your shelf.  In half an hours time it may have given you the encouragement you needed or started a train of thought that could just lead you to some sort of a breakthrough in your business.

Remember ‘Leaders Are Readers’

Does the possibility of failure stop you in your tracks? Do you think to yourself that one day you would love to run your own Network Marketing home business, then the little voice in your head says ‘you – as if you could have your own business; you would crash and burn’?  Do you still remember your Mother telling you that you were not clever enough to do something like that?  That you should get a job like everyone else and keep your head down? Well I’m here to tell you that you ARE good enough; that you CAN set up and run your own Network Marketing home business; that you CAN be successful at whatever you choose!  It all starts with mindset.  If you want something enough, you can change the way you think.  Get rid of that little voice in your head.  Refuse to listen to it. And stop listening to what other people tell you.  Start believing that you CAN do it.  Then decide that you WILL do it! Because failure is not an end!  Failure is a beginning.  Failure means that what you tried did not work but the great news is that you have learned something.  Now you know what NOT to do when you try again.  And do you realise that almost everyone who succeeds in business has also failed miserably in the past?!  Failure is quite simply a learning process.  So don’t let it get you down! Real failure is when you fall down and don’t get back up and try again. Real failure is giving up. And that is the only way you can fail in your Network Maketing Home Business!  By not getting up again when you fall. Because believe me, you will fall!  A Network Marketing Business is full of ups and downs, whether you run your business on or offline.  But the great thing about all these ups and downs is that you become a better person; you grow along with your business!  You learn more and more about people; what makes people tick, the different personality types, how to interact with them. And the great news about that is that you learn more from every failure that you have and eventually you begin to succeed!  One of my first mentors when I started in Network Marketing used to say to people ‘Go out and get 20 no’s!’  And those who tried that just couldn’t do it, because by the time they had 10 or so no’s, they were so good with people that they started getting yes’s!! So remember “Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly” – Robert F Kennedy!!

Do you use a Dream Book, or a dream board to help you visualise WHY you are doing your home based business? Many people (and I was guilty of this too when I first started my business) think that a dream book or board is a load of baloney!  I found it hard to believe that sticking pictures of a new car or a holiday I wanted would help my business in any way.  I would just nod along when anyone told us to go and make a dream book, and then just not bother.

Until one day at a home business meeting, when a lady bought in her dream book and showed us through it.  She was so passionate about what she wanted from the future, that it shone from her.  Her eyes were alight when she showed us pictures of her family and how she intended to help them once she had the money to do so.  And I realised at that moment that this lady would definitely succeed in her home based business.  You could just tell from the passion she had when she talked about her dreams.  You knew nothing would ever stand in the way of her success.  And that planted a seed (just like my last article!!) in my head.

A short while later it was my birthday and I asked one of my daughters to buy me a beautiful deep pink book that I had seen that even tied with a ribbon.  I didn’t go out looking for a book; I hadn’t even realised that I intended to start a dream book,but while I was browsing around a shop I saw it and thought straight away – my dream book!  Amazing how the seed of an idea can be planted in your head, and start to grow sometime later!

So a few weeks later I started thinking about what I wanted to put in my book.  I knew my main why was to get my partner Alan out of his job.  So I started with pictures of him, and how his life would look once he could give up working!  But as I thought more about it, I realised that I already had a good idea of what I wanted to see in my dream book. It expanded my mind and my thinking – I was actually designing my future life.

My dream book is definitely a work in progress; when I started it everything was a dream.  Now some of my dreams have started to appear in my life and I find I have more goals to add to my book.  Like grandchildren for instance and how I can help them in the future!  And I am remembering long forgotten dreams or wishes I had and perhaps gave up on earlier in my life.  Now I am bringing out these dreams, re-examining them and adding them to my dream book if I still want them.

And don’t make the mistake of thinking its all about a new car, house or holiday.  My dream book is full of how I can help my family, friends and charities. About how I can lead a better, more fulfilled and healthier life! It’s not all about money, but thats nice too!

If you have been guilty of dismissing the idea of a dream book or board, think again! Because you have pictures of your goals clearly there in front of you, you mind accepts that and leads you towards your dreams.  I know because it is slowly happening to me!!  If you can visualise what you want out of life you can get it! Make it real!

Have I gone crazy?  Maybe!! But I will tell you why I think you need to become a farmer in your Network Marketing Opportunity.  I heard someone say something the other day about planting seeds and getting the results six months down the line and it made me think that those of us in a Network Marketer Opportunity have alot in common with Farmers!!  Because, just like Farmers plant seeds in the fields, we drop out little nuggets of information (or seeds) to people.  Then because we have put a thought into their head, it slowly begins to take root, blossom and grow, just like the Farmer’s seed!!

So many people are suffering with money worries at this time.  They are rushing around, so busy worrying about their dire money situation that they have probably not even given a thought to finding a second income stream.  Then we come along and perhaps tell them what we are doing, or ask them to take a look and that’s it, we have planted a seed.  They begin to think about the possibilities, and how much better their life would be if only they could earn a few hundred extra each month!

But just as Jim Rohn said on his Building Your Network Marketing Business CD; ‘some seeds will fall on stony ground’.  Because some people just do not have an open mind with which to view our opportunity.  And some people would find Network Marketing beyond their comfort zone and be unwilling to step up to the mark.  Which is fine of course, because these are the people who, if you did manage to sign them up, would only last a few months.

And of course, some seeds will start to grow, but then get choked by weeds and die!  These are the people who will join your opportunity, but then listen to their next door neighbour’s uncle’s sister, who had a ‘bad’ experience once with MLM and decide to give up!

But of course some seeds will fall on good soil, and be nourished and grow strong and healthy!  And these are the seeds that we are interested in.  Because they will become the stars in your business.  They are the reason we go around planting seeds at all!

So remember when you talk to people, you are planting ‘seeds’!  Because just imagine if you spoke to someone about your opportunity and they said they were not interested because they were happy in their job, or because they did not have any money worries.  What if, 4 months down the road, they were made redundant, lost their job, or got sick?  Maybe at that time, that little seed that you planted in their mind would begin to take root and grow!

Planting has always fascinated me.  To think that you could take a tiny dried up seed and have it grow into a green, healthy plant is pretty incredible when you think about it.  So imagine planting a tiny thought into someone’s head, and it blossoming and growing into a strong, thriving business!  Now imagine a whole field full of plants, growing strong and healthy!

Let’s keep on planting those seeds!!

strong>Network Marketing or Multilevel Marketing has changed! Not everyone realises this yet, but Network Marketing is evolving and changing for the better.  And the first thing to change will be the 97% failure rate.  Because the old school outdated methods of recruiting people into your Network Marketing business are slowly being replaced by the new age of MLM which is marketing your business online.

Now don’t get me wrong. This is not something that will happen overnight, but it is happening right now at this minute.  Every minute of every day someone is coming online for the first time to search for a way to resurrect their ailing Network Marketing business.  And what they will find once they look hard enough will be a revelation to them, and the turning point of their Network Marketing business!

Because they will realise that they can actually build their business rapidly once they have learned what it takes!  The number of people that distributors recruit online is far higher than the numbers recuited by using old style methods.  So cheques will be higher.  And that percentage will begin to fall!

Of course, just like in any business, there will still be a failure rate.  Not everyone will want to work online, and not everyone will put in the effort it requires.  Because there is a learning curve.  When I first came online, I had no idea what most people were talking about!  Autoresponders, hosting and webinars?!  It was like some sort of parallel world!  But several months down the road, it all makes complete sense, and I am learning more everyday!

Network Marketing Companies are going to have to invest in these changes too! Because anyone who begins to market their business online is going to want to be able to sign up reps online.  They are going to want capture pages to get peoples name and email or phone details.  They will also want a site that does the recruiting for them to a certain extent; where they can send their prospects 24/7 to watch videos or read information on their company.

Because there are now people who are signing up to a Network Marketing company online without ever having spoken to a distributor! And any company who does not have a website up and running to recruit someone without them speaking to a rep, is going to be missing out big time!  Because if someone is determined to find an MLM company today, they will go to one they can find online.

So for now the old school methods are still being taught everyday.  But eventually, as those of us who work online get out and about in our communities, we will help and educate those who use these old methods, and more and more people will come online to market their business.

Of course, Network Marketing will also still be done offline as well, but once the two methods are fused together, I believe this industry will reach new heights. It has already changed in so many ways.  It is now a much more recognised way of making money. So many famous entrepreneurs are now joining an MLM company or starting their own, that the non-believers are hard pressed to find bad things to say about Network Marketing nowadays!

Oh yes, Network Marketing has changed!!  Big time!

If you are in MLM, take this MLM tip and BRAND YOURSELF! Because this is THE most important tip you will get in marketing your mlm business on the internet!  You have to brand yourself, because people buy people, not products. 

Would you buy something from someone that you did not know, like or trust? No of course not.  And neither will anyone else.

Many people struggle with this concept when they first come online to build their MLM/Network Marketing business.  They have been taught offline, and believe that the only way to build their business is to shout their brand from the rooftops.  Unfortunately, they consider their brand to be their Company or their Products.  However on the internet your brand is You! If you are shouting out your Company or Your Products all over the internet, you will be considered an amateur and very few prospects will be interested in you.

Droves of people who are in MLM already, or who want to know more about MLM are coming onto the internet everyday looking for answers. They search round to see what other people are doing, so they can copy them.  So to succeed online you need to have yourself  branded all over the web, so people can keep coming across your name and your brand.  When they look at what you are doing online and consider you an expert, they will want more and more information from you.

So how do I become the expert you might ask!  Well firstly you need to remember that none of us began as experts in internet marketing.  To become an expert you have to give value. And to give value, you need knowledge.  So become a sponge.  Start by learning something everyday about internet marketing.

Each day as you learn something, then you share it with others.  You can write an article about what you have learned, you can put it on your blog and send it out to article directories.  You could do a video about what you have learned and put it on YouTube or other video sites.

And then keep on rinsing and repeating.  Learn everyday.  Watch videos, attend webinars, read articles.  Soak up the information, turn it into articles of your own, in your own words, and get them out there.  Become the teacher.

Remember, everyone has to go through a learning curve.   No-one is exempt!   None of us came onto the internet knowing all about internet marketing.  And the great thing is that within a few months, if you keep learning everyday, you will be so much more of an expert than the people who will be coming online after you!

You will have branded yourself as a leader!
