I Heart AWeber.com

Share The Love!! ===>

I have been marketing online now for about six months, and started using Aweber right from the start, from a recommendation.  I never really understood it tht much, just did as I was told to do and got it set up with my emails.  Then I just left it to do its job.  Which is fine and simple and just what I wanted really.

Then after a few months I discovered I could send out extra broadcasts, so I started sending out details of the weekly webinar that my lead system does.  More recently I realised that  Aweber did opt-in forms! That was very timely for me, because I had lots of difficulties with opt-on forms, particularly that mine were never that sexy!  So I logged in and found lots of options, very customisable and very easy to put onto any of your pages!  Neat.

So realising I was missing a trick of two with Aweber, I decided today to dig a big deeper.  And I found lots more stuff!  For a start they have a newsletter you can opt-in to with lots of helpful hints and tips to get more from your autoresponder.  They also give you the free gift of a downloadable pdf on ‘email deliverability‘ which has lots of useful suggestions making sure your emails are actually arriving at their destination, including avoiding being classed as spam!

One great pointer it gave me was to always do a plain text email as well as an html one.  I have always thought that it wasn’t worth doing a plain one as well.  However,Aweber made me realise two things.  First spammers do not bother with a plain version, so it makes it clear you are not a spammer.  Secondly so many people read their emails on a mobile device of some sort nowadays, and many of these do not support html.  Therefore cutting down the number of people who may have otherwise read your email! Ok, I’m sold!  Every little helps!!

Aweber also do something else I didn’t know about but now plan to use!  We have all heard of RSS feeds, but like many people I don’t know much about them. Definitely something I will be learning and writing about very soon!!  Well apparently I am not alone, 97% of people do not know how to subscribe to RSS feeds!  Wow!  Well to help with this, Aweber have come up with doing a blog broadcast of your RSS feed to your email list!

What they do is to everytime you post a new article on your blog, they take this from the RSS feed and turn it into an email for you.  You set it up in Aweber (start under messages), choose your template and Aweber do the rest.  You can set it up to send on certain days, or whenever you want.   You can also review the broadcasts before they are sent if you want to.  Amazing stuff.

Oh and Aweber are also on Twitter @Aweber!  Follow them, you can offen pick up more tips from them, and they are always monitoring when people talk about Aweber so they can help anyone who is having problems.  This is exactly why Twitter is so good for business!

Also, they do regular webinars to help with everything from basic set up to doing opt-in forms, great for those of us who are not technically minded and often need help.

So there you are, Aweber is so much more than an Autoresponder!!  Dig a little deeper you guys!
